Mark Meridy
Mark Meridy has been the Executive Director of DOROT since 2009. As a leader in the field, he was recognized as one of the “2024 Nonprofit Power Players” by Politics NY and as a “Nonprofit Trailblazer” by City & State Magazine. In 2022 he received the “Empire Whole Health Heroes Award.” Mark has appeared on MSNBC, CBS Morning News, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and NPR’s “The Takeaway” to discuss the devastating consequences of social isolation and loneliness. Mark serves on the Board of Directors of Generations United and was recently elected to the Board of the Foundation for Social Connection – Action Network. He has participated in NY Governor Hochul’s Master Plan on Aging Workgroups and Senator Gillibrand’s Workgroup on Aging.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree from American University, a master’s degree in Public Administration, and a certificate in Gerontology from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Mark also participated in the Institute for Executive Leadership at Columbia University’s Business School.
