Social isolation and loneliness are at epidemic levels in the United States.

According to The Cigna Group’s 2025 report, loneliness impacts every generation nationwide, including:

of Gen Z
(born 1997 -2006)

of Millennials
(born 1981 – 1996)

of Gen X
(born 1965 – 1980)

of Baby Boomers
(born 1946 – 1964)

Music has the power to bring generations together through creating shared experiences that strengthen relationships, spark conversation, foster connection, and help people build a sense of identity (Rickard et al., 2025)

Artist for Action (AFA) and the Foundation for Social Connection ACTION NETWORK (F4SC-AN) are mobilizing artists, communities, and policymakers to confront the growing crisis of social isolation and loneliness.

By bringing generations together through the creative arts, music, live events, and shared experience, we’re using music to combat social isolation, foster belonging, and harness collective action.

Come together, and join our national movement.
